Public Transport
The excellent central location of the Lodge means you can easily walk to many attractions. However the bus stop is also directly across the street. The reliable bus service operates from early morning till just before midnight. The numbers which will take you to the town centre are 12,26 and 31. The price for a single ticket is roughly £1.80 or a daily ticket can be purchased for around £4.50. These tickets are bought on the bus and please remember to use the correct change. The Edinburgh Airport bus (Number 100) can also be caught from Haymarket Train Station and takes approximately 25 minutes to reach the airport.
Car Parking
The car park out front is for residents only and has limited space. If you know you will want to leave your car for the day when you check out, and many guests do, please contact reception to arrange this.
Cancellation Policy
7 days notice.
Check In
Check-in is available after 2pm, 7 days a week.
Self Check-in after 6pm and we will send you all information either by phone / email.
Please inform the hotel at the earliest convenience should you be arriving out with these hours to ensure that you have all information for self check-in.
Check Out
Check-out time is at 11.00am. You can settle your bill either the night before or the morning of departure. It is also possible to request a late check out – available on request at an additional charge of £10 per hour per room. Just contact reception if you wish to arrange this. It is also usually possible to leave your bags here if you wish to visit some more of Edinburgh before you leave.
Churches
The Local Catholic Church is St John the Baptist, St Ninians Road, Costorphine. There is a mass at 6pm on a Saturday and on a Sunday it starts at 10.00am. Church of Scotland is located at St Giles Cathedral, High Street. Sunday Service at 10.00am.
Chemist
If you are feeling unwell there is a chemist situated at Roseburn, which is a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Turn left at the front and follow the road under the bridge until you reach the row of shops. NHS 24 Phone Number 08454 242424.
Car Hire
If you plan on going further afield then a car is a must. We have telephone numbers and websites for local rental companies and these can be found by contacting a member of staff.
Credit Cards Accepted
We can accept Visa & MasterCard.
Deposits
We don’t take deposit but a valid credit card information is required for pre-authorization. Payment will be taken on arrival.
Fire Alarm
You will be alerted to the fire alarm by a continuous ringing bell. If you discover a fire, raise the alarm and contact a member of staff. There are alarm points and fire extinguishers at strategic points around the hotel. If you hear the bell, even if you are in doubt about its purpose, you should:-
1. Leave the hotel immediately.
2. Close doors behind you.
3. Wait outside, clear from the hotel front
4. Once here inform staff of your name and room number.
5. Do not re-enter the building until told to do so.
Do not attempt to fight the fire if it involves risk. Professional help will come as soon as the alarm is raised.
Internet
The hotel benefits from a local access Wi-Fi point and this is free for all guests providing they have their own laptop. A password for this can be obtained from the front desk.
Laundry
We do not offer a laundry service. There is a launderette and dry cleaning service available at The Murrayfield Launderette, 1 Murrayfield Place.
Pets
Pets are not allowed.
Smoking
Smoking is strictly prohibited within the hotel and rooms. There is a door leading out to the gardens where smoking is permitted. A penalty of £250 will be charged to anyone caught smoking in their room.
Stationery
Your room comes equipped with a Lodge notepad and pen. Should you need more paper or any other items (rulers, calculators, eraser, punch, pencil) please contact reception.
Taxis
The local numbers for taxis is 0131 229 2468. We can also arrange a taxi for you. The approximate price to the airport is £20 and to the city centre £10.
Television
LCD TVs with Freeview Channels in all rooms.
